SWEET FLAVA are a group of very talented and dedicated dancers aged between 13 and 16 yrs. They were launched at the same time as their big brothers and sisters of dance, FLAVA (known for their success on Britains Got Talent), and have been training with Fiona Richardson at The Big Dance Company for 3 years.

The group train together weekly with Fiona learning skills not just in dance, but team building and other skills you learn every week without even knowing it, such as self motivation, respect and courage. The group perform at any opportunity and Fiona is always scouring the Internet to find new experiences to get them involved in. 2008 saw them winning the Cornwall’s Got Talent - a competition held in Penryn, and 2009 has so far seen them win the UDO British Street Dance Championships (U18) in February and the UDO World Championships (U18) in August!! 

They have also won the West Coast of England title and represented England and the Big Dance Company in Los Angeles at the prestigious dance festival Dance Excellence.

Sweet Flava compete regularly and all members make finals at these competitions, the team are ALL individually talented in many styles.

The group recently performed at their first audition for Britain’s Got Talent hoping to follow in the footsteps of their role models FLAVA, they have done lots of gigs so far this year and have loads and loads more which they are all really excited about! Their performances so far this year have included: the international Breakin’ Convention, held at the Theatre Royal Plymouth, where they performed on stage alongside France’s Got Talent winner Salah and an amazing Korean break dance troupe, amoung others. Support act for Ruth Lorenzo (X Factor). Guest performers at the finals for Hotsteppers Dance Competition + many more! 

Sweet Flava’s most recent success’ to date, apart from gaining a world title, are being involved in the new British Street Dance Movie with George Sampson, Flawless and Diversity and also being invited to audition for Sky1 series ‘Just Dance’ and also being asked to perform alongside FLAVA, FLAWLESS and TRINITY WARRIORS in a production by Fire Steps Theatre and Film company early next year!!

Fiona wants the team to learn about self-promotion and be ready for any opportunity that might come their way. Fiona says; “I know that lots of exciting opportunities will find their way to them as they are all infectious characters and have big ambitions”
